Catherine Charnock

I am originally from South Africa, and graduated with a degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town in 1999. I worked inhouse at the University of Oxford’s Public Relations Directorate in 2003-4, and subsequently at Earthwatch Institute for six years. By the time I left Earthwatch I was designing for the European and American markets. I have been working freelance since 2005. In 2010, after having my first child, I decided to go fully freelance. I am now the mother of two gorgeous boys.

Below are my three personal mantras that I wake up to every morning. I designed them for a Typography Competition run by Make It In Design, and the third one, “Listen to that small quiet voice” was listed in the topĀ 20, from over 320 entries worldwide! See the other lovely entries here – it’s quite uplifting!
