Painting

In addition to design work, where I love taking concepts and messy word documents and making them into something beautiful and ordered on a page, I am passionate about painting. My work ranges from small ink and gouache drawings to large oil and acrylic paintings on canvas. My subjects include still life and landscape. Sometimes the “subject” is simply a vehicle for exploration of colour and technique, representation and abstraction, and for playing with materials and process to discover new forms of expression.

From a painterly aspect, my aims are:
• a continued awareness of mark-making, to broaden my mark-making vocabulary
• experimenting with colour and composition as emotive and psychological tools
• sound painterly technique

All my works are for sale – please contact me for information or for more images of my work.
